Folders

Folders

Each day your child will bring home a Daily folder. Please empty the folder and return the next day. You may keep your child's work at home. Your child will also bring home a Responsibility Folder each day. Inside the folder you will find a behavior calendar to let you know how your child has done each day. Please review the notations on the calendar, initial that day's box and return the next day. An Eddins folder (Monday folder) will go home every Monday with all students. Please review the contents and return the empty folder on Tuesday. Any notes or papers that need to be given to the teacher, including those sent to you in the Monday folder, should be sent to school in the pocket of the Daily Folder. Please remember that any money sent to school should be in a sealed envelope with the child's name, amount, and purpose of money on it.

Backpacks

Backpacks should be brought to school every day. All folders should be returned each day as well. Many of the activities we do in class are "hands-on" or oral type activities so the sum total of your child's day is not always in his/her folder. Saying things like "Tell me about one of today's stories" or "what did you write about in your writer's notebook?" will help your kindergartener share his/her day with you. We will not be checking backpacks for things from home. One of the responsibilities that our students will be learning in kindergarten is taking care of his/her things and getting them where they belong. Of course, verbal reminders will be given repeatedly to the students. PLEASE HAVE A SEASON APPROPRIATE CHANGE OF CLOTHES INCLUDING UNDERWEAR IN A LARGE ZIP-LOC BAG WITH YOUR STUDENT'S NAME ON IT.
